Danica® Hardy Hibiscus

Elegant, double white flowers have raspberry pink centers and outer petals. The eye-catching flowers attract butterflies and pollinators all summer long. The flowers also are showy additions to cut floral arrangements. Like other hardy hibiscus, Danica Hibiscus syriacus, also known as Rose of Sharon, is handy if you love the look of tropical flowers, but need something more reliable in a cold climate. Rose of Sharon is woody, and these hard stems won't die back in the winter, standing up to cold weather better. The other big reason gardeners love syriacus is when they want a hibiscus tree. It naturally grows into a vase shape, but the woody stems can be manipulated into a nice tree shape. It's gorgeous architectural interest for a more formal landscape. Ideal for planting as a colorful hedge, privacy screen, mass planting or specimen plant in a sunny location. Unlike other hardy hibiscus, this cultivar will produce very few pesky seedlings in your garden due to its double flower character. Winner of the Royal Horticultural Society of Great Britain Award of Garden Merit. Deer tend to avoid. Hibiscus syriacus 'Danicaz'
